DESIGN FOR PENCIL-CASES.
Specification Forming part of Design No. [1,069, dated March ll, i879; illtll ll dllilUll lilrd 'l ebrnzu'y6,1879. [Term of patent 7 years] To all whom, it may concern Be it known that I, GILBERT S. CLARK, of Hackensaclc, in the county of Bergen and State of New Jersey, have originated and designed a Case for Pencils, Pens, Tooth-Picks, VVateh- Keys, and other devices, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact d script-ion, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making; part of this specification, in which Figure 1 is a side View of my design. 2 is a top view of the same.

My new design consists in a case, A, which is made in the form of a trumpet, provided. with beads a a, as shown, and also with eyes I) b, to the latter of which is attached a ring, B. On one side of the line cis a flaring piece, 0, and from this line to the point :10 the ease A gradually tapers, terminating in a flaring mouth-piece, D, of the form shown in Fig. 2.

Protruding from the sn'ntllor end of the trumpet or month-piece l) is a. pencil-nib, 1*]; but instead of the pencil-nib a watch-key 01 toothpick may be substituted. The eye I) is located near the bend a, and the eye 0 is lo eatod near the head it, but may be arranged farther from it than I have shown in the drawings.
The tube or case A may be ornamented with any figure that may be selected in addition to the devices shown.
Having described my new design, I elaim The case A, having the form of a trumpet, provided with heads a (t and eyes I) b, a ring, 13, and e nih, I l, the whole forming a new and original design for the case of a pencil, watchkey, or tooth-pick, substantially as above described.
