UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
PAUL A. STOUT, OF ALLEGHENY, PENNSYLVANIA.
DESIGN FOR STUCCQ CENTER-PIECE.
Specification forming part of Design No. 10,061, dated June 19, 1877; application filed May 21, 1877. [Term of Patent 7 years] To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, PAUL A. STOUT, of Allegheny City, county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a Design for Stucco Center-Piece, of which the following is a specification The nature of my design is fully represented in the accompanying photographic illustration, to which reference is made.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
The invention relates to a rich and elaborate design for a stucco center-piece for ceilings; and it consists essentially of a center rosette and encircling molding, of an elongated oval molding, extending at both sides therefrom, and of an oblong molding or frame, tangential to the oval, with projecting side extensions, and semicircular end extensions, and exterior inclosing ornamented band.
By referring to the illustration, A represents a center rosette encircled by a circular molding, B. The rosette A is worked out in elaborate manner with ribs, radiating from a smaller circular center portion or in other manner. Au elongated oval molding, G, extends tangentially to the rosette-molding B at diametrically-opposite sides of the same, the space between the circular and oval moldings being filled with flowers and ornaments symmetrically to the longitudinal axis. An oblong molding or frame, D, incloses again the oval molding, and is tangential to the sides and ends of the same, the corner spaces between the oval molding and oblong frame being filled with scroll shaped ornaments. From the longer sides of the oblong frame 1) project rectangular extensions E with symmetrically-arrangod ornaments running to a point, while from the shorter sides project semicircular extensions E. The outer oblong frame and rectangular and semicircular extensions are finally inclosed by an exterior receding baud, F, which is studded with small ornaments at suitable distances from each other, the parts of the band F at the semicircular extensions being run out by suitable scroll-work into pointed or tapering ends, the whole forming a centerpiece of rich and elegant appearance and design.
Having thus fully described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The design for a center-piece for ceilings, composed of a central rosette, A, encircling molding B, elongated oval molding (J, oblong tangential frame D, with ornamental side and end extensions and inclosing receding band F, substantially as shown and described.
PAUL A. STOUT.
