G. H. MILLER.
GAME APPARATUS.
APPLICATION FILED SEPT.14, 1910.

GEORGE H. MILLER, F DETROIT, MICHIGAN.
GAME APPARATUS.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented May 30, 1911.
Application filed September 14, 1910. Serial No. 581,944.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE H. MILLER, citizen of the United States, residing Detroit, county of Vayne, State of Miclngan, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Game Apparatus, and declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, such as w1ll enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanylng drawings, which form a part of this specification.
My invention relates to an improvement in a device for shaking and throwing dice, shown in the accompanying drawings and more particularly pointed out in the following specification and claims.
The object of my invention is to reduce the number of parts generally employed in devices of this character and to produce an appliance which may be constructed at nominal cost and one which is not apt to get out of order and in which the dice may be thoroughly tumbled.
Other advantages and improvements will hereafter appear.
In the drawings accompanying this specification:Figure 1 is a perspective view of the device. Fig. 2 is a vertical section through the box proper.
Referring now to the letters of reference placed upon the drawings :-A is a box preferably rectangular in cross section, mounted upon one end of the tray B.
C is a swinging platform lodged within the box pivoted at c,the platform being preferably at an angle to the side Walls of the box.
D is a lever pivoted at d and projecting {)hrough a slotted way a in the side of the E is a link connection between the platform C and the lever.
Having indicated the several parts by reference letters, the operation of the device will be readily understood.
The dice are placed upon the swinging platform C through the opening in the top of the box; the lever D is then depressed, which act-ion causes the platform C to swing downwardly allowing the dice to drop upon the inclined floor H down which they roll, tumbling them onto the tray B, as shown in the drawings.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim is 1. In a device of the class described, a box provided with an opening through which dice may be discharged, a swinging platform located within the box adapted to deliver the dice through said opening, a lever for actuating the platform, and a spring for returning the platform to its normal position.
2. In a device of the class described, a
box provided with an opening through its side wall, a swinging platform located with in the box adapted to deliver the dice through said opening, a lever for actuating said platform having a projecting end extending beyond the wall of the box whereby it may be manually operated, and a spring to return the platform to its normal positlon. 3. In a device of the class described, a box provided with an opening through its side wall and a stationary floor inclined toward the opening, a swinging platform located within the box adapted to deliver the dice upon the inclined floor, a lever for actuating the platform, a spring for returning the platform to its normal position, and a tray to receive the dice discharged through the opening in the box.
4. In a device of the class described, a box provided with an opening through its side wall, a swingin platform pivoted within the box adapted to deliver the dice through said opening, a lever for actuating the platform, a link connection between the lever and platform, and a spring for returning the platform to its normal position.
5. In a device for shaking dice or other like articles, a tray, an open ended box mounted thereon, a swinging platform 10- cated within the box, a lever pivoted at one through which the dice may be delivered 10 end to the box, its free end projecting onto the tray.
through the wall of the same, a link con- In testimony whereof, I sign this specifinection between the lever and swinging cation in the presence of two witnesses.

swinging platform, said box provided with GRACE E. WYNKOOP, an opening opposite the inclined floor, SAMUEL E. THOMAS.
