SIGN-EXHIBITOR.
T 0 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, BENJAMIN A. HARRIS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Lone Wolf, in the county of Kiowa and State of Oklahoma, have invented new and useful Improvements in Sign-Exhibitors, of which the following is a specification.
My invent-ion relates to improvements in sign exhibitors, and the primary object is the provision of an exhibitor in the use of which a sign of water proof paper or other material may be displayed along streets, roads, and railways, the invention comprehending an exhibitor which may readily and quickly be attached to a fence, post, tree, wall or other support.
A further object of the invention is the provision of a sign exhibitor which is adapted to prevent the sign from being torn or otherwise injured by the wind.
A still further object of the invention is the provision of a sign exhibitor which is simple, durable and eflicient and which may be manufactured and sold at a comparatively low cost.
With the above and other objects in view the invention consists in the construction, combination and arrangement of parts here inafter fully described and claimed, and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein Figure 1 is a view in front elevation of a sign exhibitor constructed in accordance with my invention, and Fig. 2 is a plan view illustrating the construction of the members of the exhibitor, the members being shown in spread relation.
My improved sign exhibitor comprises duplicate members A and B which are adapted to support between them the sign G, of water proof paper or other material. Each member of the exhibitor comprises a rectangular frame 2 which is preferably constructed of a single length of stout wire, and a reticulated panel 3. The panels 3 are formed of transverse wires 4 which are se cured at their ends to the sides of the frames 2 and longitudinal wires 5 which are interlaced with the wires 4land which are socured at their ends to the ends of the frames 2. The members A and B are secured to gether in exhibitor form by means of loops 6 which embrace the ends and the lower Specification of Letters Patent.

sides of the frames of the members, this manner of securing the members together providing a sign receptacle open at its upper side.
In practice the sign is inserted into the receptacle, that is to say between the members of the exhibitor through the open side thereof, after which the opened side is closed by means of loops 7 which embrace the top sides of the frames of the members. The exhibitor may be secured to a post, wall, tree or other suitable support. The exhibitor is especially adapted to be secured to a wire fence by means of loops 8 and. which are passed about the upper and lower sides of the frames of the members and about the adjacent line wires of the fence, as clearly illustrated in Fig. 1 of the drawings. The loops 8 not only provide means by which the exhibitor may be secured between two line wires of a fence, but also assist in securing the members of the exhibitor together. The panels 3 engage and support the sign member and prevent it from beingv torn or otherwise injured by the Wind.
It should be apparent, from the above description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, that I provide a sign exhibitor which may be readily and quickly secured to any suitable support, which is adapted to protect the sign from injury by the wind and which can be manufactured and sold at a comparatively low cost. It should also be apparent that the sign is plainly visible through the exhibitor and that the exhibitor is simple, durable and efficient.
Changes in the form, proportions and minor details of construction may be made within the scope of the claim without departing from the spirit or sacrificing any of the advantages of the invention.
Having thus described the invention what is claimed as new is A sign exhibitor comprising duplicate members between which is supported a sign, each member consisting of a rectangular frame of stout wire, and a reticulated panel of interlaced wires secured at its edges to .the sides and ends of the frame, loops embracing the sides and ends of the frames to secure the members together, the panels engaging and supportlng the slgn and preventing it. from being torn or otherwise in- In testimony whereof I afliX my signature jured by the Wind, and other loops embrac- 111 presence of two Witnesses. 7 mg the sides of the frames and providing 7.
