COMBINATION TROUSERS-BAND REGULATOR AND BELT-RETAINER.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JULIUs E. IVEIL, a citizen -of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combination Trousers- Band Regulators and Belt- Retainers, of which the following is a specification.
The present invention relates to an improved trouser band regulator and belt retainer which is intended more especially to be secured about the trouser waist line for the purpose of engaging and retaining a belt in proper position, and at the same time regulating the tension about the waist band as desired.
The invention consists in the features of construction and combination of parts hereinafter described and claimed.
In the drawings, Figure l is a side elevation of this improved trouser band regulator, attached to a pair of trousers; Fig. 2 a longitudinal section, taken on line 2-2 of Fig. 1; and Fig. 3 a transverse section, taken on line SH3 of Fig. 1.
This improved trouser band regulator, as indicated in Fig. 1, is secured lengthwise upon the outer side of the trouser waist t, and is formed of two independent members 5 and 6, respectively, having their bodies of the same general formation, the outer corners 7 thereof being sewed onto the trouser band, as shown, for the purpose of permitting a belt 8 to be inserted therethrough and retained in proper position. A buckle 9 is secured, as usual, upon the end of one of the independent members for receiving and engaging the tongue 10 of the other member.
If desired, this improved trouser band regulator can be made of the same material as the trousers with which it is used, so as Specification of Letters Patent.

The belt 8 is positioned about the trouser waist and retained in place by means of loops 11, and this trouser band regulator, through which the saine is passed, has its base ends corresponding to the loops 11. In warm weather it is inconvenient and annoying to have to iirst loosen the belt in order to get at the strap and buckle underneath the belt on the back of the trousers.
This trouser band regulator enables the tension of the trouser band to be manipulated in a convenient and easy manner, the only requisite being in having the tongue 10 engage the buckle 9 in proper manner for producing the desired tension.
`What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. In a garment of the class described, a plurality of belt loops disposed about the waist of the garment, each of said loops being permanently secured at the top and at the bottom thereof, and means for adjusting such waist comprising members on adjacent loops adapted to be adjustably secured together, substantially as described.
2. In a garment of the class described, a plurality of belt loops secured at the top and at the bottom thereof, and disposed about the waist of the garment, whereby the belt may be passed around such waist and through said loops, and means for adjusting such waist comprising members on adjacent loops lying without said belt, and adapted to be adjustably secured together, substantially as described.
