IMPRGVED KNIFE-GUARD.

To all whom fit Imay concern Be it known that I, E. A. GoODns, of Ihiladelphia, in the county of Philadelphia, and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a newv and improved Knife-Guard and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the salue, reference being,` had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification.

rIhis invention has for its object to provide a guardattachment for Vegetable-knives, whereby the paring may be gauged to any required thickness.

The invention consists of a wire guard-attachment, so shaped and arranged, relatively to the knife-blade, that it may be readily clamped to the blade by thunibnuts, screwing on to the ends of the wire, and against the 'hack 'edge of the blade, with the gauging-part adjusted along the edge at one side, parallel with it,
