Letters Patent No. 88,883, dated April 13, 1869.
mnovnn PASTRY-CUTTER AND cmmrna' Be it known that I, WALLACE'RMARIE, of Boston, in the county of Sufiolk,-and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Machine for Cutting and Crimping Pastry and Cake, called The Combination Pastry and Cake-Cutter and Crimpen and I'do hereby declare that the following is an exact, full, and clear description of the construction'and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawing, making a part of this specification, of which Figure l is a perspective view.
In. the construction of my pastry and cake-cutter and crimper, I use a rod, marked A, of suitable length, the end being turned at right angles, flattened, sharpened, and tempered to serve as a knife or cutter, b, to cut the pastry.
A rod, marked 0, running nearly parallel with the rod A, the end d being turned at right. angles across the outer edge of the knife or cutter b, it being provided with a screw and .nut to hold the rolling-crimper e in its place.
The rods A- and-c are secured to-the handle f by means of a thread on the ends of the rods, which are screwed into the end of the handle f.
The uses of these screws are to remove either rod to facilitate sharpening the knife or cutter I At the end of the handle f, opposite the rods A and 0, a holder, g, is attached, which is also provided with a screw and nut, to hold another crimper, h, to be used in place of the crimper 0, when needed.
The rods are to be made of "steel, the handle and crimpers of woodyor other suitable material.
When'nsed, the knife is placed against the edge of the plate, the crimper resting on the pastry. By pushing it around the; edge of the plate, the pie is crimped and the surplus pastry cut off.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The rods A c and cutter B, in combination with rolling-crimper E, handle f, and holder g, the whole arranged substantially as and, for the purposes herein specified.
