DOOR STOP.
APPLIGATION FILED BEPT.29,1909.

a m m GEORGE EDWARD HOUSER, OF COLUMBUS, KANSAS.
DOOR-STOP.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed. September 29, 1909. Serial No. 520,228.
T 0 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE EDWARD HoUsER, a citizen of the United States, re-
tion.
The object of my invention is to simplify the construction of door-stop shown in my prior patent, #831,788, dated September 25, 1906.
In the accompanying drawing: Figure 1 is a side View of a door, showing the application of the device of my invention thereto; Fig. 2 is a side view of the spring and rubber block.
Referring, now, in detail to the drawing: a bowed or curved leaf-spring A is secured by fastening-means, such as screws (Z passing through the upper portion thereof, directly to one of the side faces of the door. Carried by the lower extremity of the leafspring, as by screws 6, 0, is a rubber-block engageable with the floor to hold the door in any position of open or closed adjustment.
As a convenient means for elevating the block a from the floor, when it is desired to move the door, I have shown, in this instance, a flexible member 6, such as a wire, or the like, connected, at its lower end, to the lower portion of the spring A and, at its upper end, to a cross-head f, carried by the spindle of the door-knob g; whereby, upon turning said door-knob in either direction, the cross-head will be tilted, thereby exerting an upward stress upon the member 0 and, consequently, elevating the block (1.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters-Patent is:
The combination with a door, of a bowed leaf-spring secured directly to one of the side faces thereof and carrying at its lower extremity a rubber block engageable with the floor, and means, operatively associated with the spring and controllable by the turning of the door-knob, for elevating said block from the floor.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own invention, I have hereunto affixed my signature, in the presence of two witnesses.
GEORGE EDWARD I-IOUSER.
