IMPROVEMENT IN MACH-INE FOR G-RINDIN G- THE CITIITJTIEIRSl OP MOWING-MACHNES.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and makingpart of the lame.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, D. W. JAMESON, of Warren, inthe county of Trumbull, and State of Ol1i0,'have invented a new andusefnl Improvement inMachine for Grinding Harvester-Gutters; and I hereby declare' the following to be a full and complete description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making a part of this specification.
This invention consists of a device, in connection with an ordinary grindstone, whereby,harvester-cutters are held to said stone while beingground, and is an improvement on the machine for grinding'harvester-cutters, for which D. W. Jameson received Letters Patent, No. 83,067-, 'dated October 13,- 1868.
Said improvement consists in shortening the standard's C O pivoted to the bridge-tree E.
To the top of tbe standards C O is an iron rod, A, fastened to them by straps, and allowedto slide baek, and forth, and upon which is `hung the frame G, by .means of slots ont in the arms B B, by'wheh means the frame G can moved along the face of the stone, therebyl enabling the holder'to grind all the knives vwithout moving the cutter-baron the frame, and by` which means a great deal of time and Alabor is saved.
By allowing the iron rod to slide, Ican useashorter rod, and by the combined sliding of frame and rod, it will be obvious that the extreme Aend of the cutterbar can bev brought in contact with the stone, the arm of the frame being lit'ted over the top of the vstandard O, and passing out to the end of the rod A.
What I claim as my improvement, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The rod A, fastened to the top ofthe standards C O, and the manner of attaching the frame G, by means of slots in the arms B B,:and operating conjointly as' and for. the purpose substantially as set forth.
