\Vi'th the above and other objet-ts in view, the present invention eonsists in the combination and arrangement of parts herein after more fully described, illustrated in the aerompanying drawings and particularly pointed out in the appended elaims, it being understood that ehanges may be made in the] form. proportion, sizeand minor details without departing from the spirit or sacril'n-ing an) of the advantages of the invention.

Ordinarily veneer boxes are bound toget her by wire whieh requires considerable wire for the purpose. I aim to obviate the usual amount of wire employed for binding boxes and yet ettieiently seem-e the parts together and look the top or lid against displat-ement. To this end I provide a U-shaped member (3 (-omposed pf wire and provided at the bottom and top at eat-h end with alining pairs of perforatim-is 7, which perforations coincide with the perforations 8 in the upper and lower eleats 5. Thus it will be seen that my improved fastening means serves not only as a means for lot-king the top or lid in position. but it will also be seen that it reinforees the box in order to pudpnt the eontents thereof from bulging out the top and bottom sides sueh being the. Widest and weakest part of the box.

\Vhat is claimed is:-

1. IIn a box fastening, a box providedat each end with pairs of perforations, and U-shaped fastening members eat-h having legspassed through the eorresponding pairs of perforations with their big'ht portions disposed beneath the bottom of the box and the extremities of the legs thereof bent over the top and ends of-the box.
