IMPRovED REAMER.

The Schedule referred to in these Lettera Patent and making part of the name.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, A. J. Pnnsoornofatawissa, in the county of Collunbia, and in the-State of' Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Beamers; and do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, making a part of this Specification. v

The nature of my invention consists in the construction of a reamer, whichis provided with grooved sides, and is so formed that it will vnot chatter while at work. v

Letter A represent-s the ball ofthe Ieamer, which is secured to the end of the handle B.

Upon the bottom of the ball there are twobevclled edges, one of which is notched, Iwhile the other is smooth.

The notched edge, c, does the cutting,`whilc the smooth one, d, serves Ato steady the reamer, and keeps it from` chattering while at work, and also smooths' the work,` and keepsvthc dirt off of the seat.

Tivo of the sides, e, are concave, so as to allow the chips, dirt, 85o., to escape, without being carried around with the ball, as it turns.

Wh'at I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

A ball or ltaper-reamer, having a cutting-edge, c, and blank or smooth edge, d, and the concave sides e, substantially in the manner and for the purposev set forth.
