Be it known that I, J 00B STEUER, of Albany, in the county ofAlbany, and State ofNew York,.have in rented certain new and useful Improvements in Lifting-Jacks; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full,
clear, and exact description thereof, reference beingV had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters o reference marked thereon, ,which form a part of this specification, and in which- Figure l represents a sidel view, with a part of the case removed, and

My invention consists in the general arrangement ofthe several parts hereinafter set forth.

In the accompanying drawingsy A represents the stock, which is formed with a recess or opening, b, as seen in iig. 1.
Through this opening is passed the shaft l), on which is secured the pinion c, working into -the gear-wheel d, which works into the pinion e.I
