LettersPatent No. 71,672, dated .December 3, 1867.
IMPROVEMENT INfSGROLL-SAW MILLS.
To ALL WHOM ITMAY oolvcium:v
Be it knownthat I, BENJAMIN F. WILLIAMSON, of the county of Franklin, and State of Ohio, have invented a new and useful Improvement on Frames or-Tables for Scroll-Saws, to be used for sawing the face and fallingmoulds for stairways, and other similar. uses; and I do herebyr declare that the following is a full, clear, and
exact description of the construction and operation of the san'le, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a. part of this speciication, in which-- Figure 1 is a perspective view of the whole frame. Figure 2 is a separate -view of the' plate or cap used for cutting o1' sawing the falling-moulds, and
Figure 3 shows an end view of the latter.
To enable-others skilled in the art to make and'nse m? 'invention,I will proceed to describe its construction and operation. l i V A isn. centre-*post or pillar, on which is turned orv operated the table or platform D, and through which passes the rod for driving the saw. B B are adjustable vlegs for raising or lowering the table-or platform,by means of arms, c c, one end of the legs beingattached to the table by means ofhnges, or their equivalent, the lower end resting on the floor, with rollers so attached as to allow the table D to revolve at the pleasure of the workmanfThe arms orvbraces c c hold the legsB B in theirproper position. D is the platform or table,- which is caused to revolve on the centre-post A, and on which are sawed the face-moulds.W Eis a stop for holdl ing the piece while being sawed, and for guiding the table D. -F is the stack for admitting or steadying the saw, such asis commonly used on scroll-frames. Fig. 2 is a small plate or heading, tobcused on the centrea post A in lieu of the table D, when sawing falling-moulds.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-,
The inclined and adjustable revolving platform or table/D, constructed to operate substantially as described, and for the purpose set forth. i
I also claim, in combination with the post A, the plate or heading I, constructed .to operate substantially es and for the purpose set forth.
, B. F. WILLIAMSON.
