The member 1-{L15 thus yieldably supports the top when folded, and protects the top from injury, jars, or jolts produced by running over rough roads or over obstructions.
The cars 171S prevent lateral displacement of the bows no matter how roughly the vehicle may be handled.
The improved device is simple in construction, can be inexpensively manufactured and applied to vehicle tops of various forms without material structural changes, and effectually prevents jars and concus sions incident to the movement of the vehicle from being communicated to the vehicle top.
What is claimed, is
As a new article of manufacture, a member formed from a single piece of resilient material and comprising an intermediate longitudinal portion having a lateral oll'set at one end provided with upwardly directed spaced guards and bent into U-shape at the other end, the U-shaped portion terminating in a flat extremity provided with screw receiving apertures and adapted to be attached to the top edge of the seat side of a vehicle and the offset portion adapted to bear beneath the adjacent bow of the vehicle top with the guards at opposite sides of said bow.
