IMPROVED MOUSTACHE-G-UARD.

Be it known that I M. G. HEPTINSTALL, of Enfield, in the county otHalifaX, and State of North Carolina, have invented a new and improved Moustache-Guard;
and I do hereby declare that the following is a full,
clear, and exact description thereof, which willv enable others skilled in the art to ,make and use the saine, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part of this specification.
-The object of this invention is to provide moustacheguards for drinking-cnps, capable of removal and attachment to any cup within certain ranges as to size, to which the said guards may be adapted. l

I make a guard, A, ot' glass, stone, clay, or any other suitable substance, in the at'and curved form represented in ligs. 1 and 2, having a hollow mouth-piece,

g Near the edge of the curved side, and in the lower surface, I make a curved groove, O, adapted for the reception ofthe top edges of the cups.
These grooves maybe 1slightly broader than the thick-l ness ofthe shells of the cups, so that one guard may fit cups of various sizes; but for oups varying materialy in size, I propose to make guards and grooves of oorresponding curvature. 4 A
These guards may be readily applied to the cup, and held thereon, while drinking, hy the lingers ofthe hand holding the cup. l
