IMPRO VEMENT IN RANGE-BOILERS. f
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making of the same.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, ANDREW BENNETT, of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings, and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Range- Boilers'; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying'drawing, forming part of this specification.
The figure is a vertical longitudinal section of the My invention has for its object to'furnish an improved range-boiler, the dome-top of which shallbe' securely and strongly connected to the body of said boiler; and e i It consists in the construction and combination of the dome-top and cylindrical body of the boiler with each other, .in the manner hereinafter more fully described.
A is the dome-top of the boiler, which is constructed in the ordinary manner, except that it is headed around its lower edge, as shown in the figure, that is to say, with a larger central bead, having a smaller bead upon each side. 4 a
B is the body of the boiler, which is made cylindrical in form, in the usual manner.

The upper edge of the bodyB is also slightly turned outward, as shown in the figure, to bear against the inner surface of the top At In forming the boiler, the upper end of the body B is pushed into the top A, until the tongues b drop into the groove of. the central bead of the top A.
By this construction, as the solder is melted, it flows through the grooves of the heading a, surrounding the tongues b, which thus become firmly embedded in the solder, the upper edge of the body B preventing the flowing out of the said solder, and confining it to the grooves of the said beading, thus strongly securing the top and body of the boiler to each other.
