To all whom it matr/'concern' Y Be it known that I, ALBERT F. Morson, a citizen of the UnitedStates, and resident of St. Louis, Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Suspenders, of which the following is a specification containing a full, clear, and exact description,

reference being had to vthe accompanyingdrawings, forming a part hereof. i

My invention relates generally to suspenders, and more particularly to the end straps thereof; and the object of my invention is to provide means on the end straps for engagingr the waistband of drawers to support the same while the Suspenders are in use.'

My invention consists in a flexible strap, which is provided with a suitable fastening device, and which strap is iixed to the rear side and lower portionof one of the ends'of the end strap of the Suspenders.

My invention further consists in certain novel features of construction and arrangement of parts, which will be hereinafter more fully set forth, pointed out in the claim, and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure l is a perspective view of one of the end straps of a pair of Suspenders with my improved drawer supporting1 loop thereon; Fig. 2 is a perspective view of a portion ofthe end strap, with the supporting strap or loop. secured thereto, and 1n an open position;`

Fig. 3 is a vertical section taken through a portion of the end strap and the supporting strap; Fig. 4 shows a portion of a'supporting strap constructed of cloth, and to which my invention is applied.

4 designates the end stra of the suspenders, and secured by stitching, or in any suitable manner, to the rear side and lower portion of one of the ends of said end strap is the upper end of a short strap 5, of leather, or analogous material; and secured to the upper sewed to the waistband of portion of said strap is the ball portion 6 of an ordinary glove fastener, the socket portion 7 of which is arranged in the lower end ofthe strap 5.

When the lower portions of the end strap are buttoned toithe waistband of the trousers, the strap 5 is passed around beneath the strap 3 on the drawers band, and the lower lend of said strap 5 is fastened to the upper portion by engaging the socket 7 on the ball 6, and, when so secured, the loop occupies a position immediately to the rear of one ofthe lower portions of the end strap, and the drawers are supported in a convenient manner and with their weight or pull'direct upon the sus; penders.

The su porting straps of my improved device can be readily positioned on end straps of cloth or leather, are entirely hid from view when in use, are very compact, and conveniently hold and support the drawers in' a comfortable manner, and without tearing or injuring the fabric ofwhich the drawers are formed.

,l claim:-

The combination with the end strap of suspenders, in which end strap is formed a but ton hole, of an independent ilexible strap the upper end of which is stitched to the rear face of one of the ends of said end strap above the button hole therein, and the free end of which strap extends below the corresponding end of the end strap, a socket fastener secured to the lower free end of the strap, nd a fastening stud secured to the upper portion kof the strap adjacent the point where the same is stitched tothe end strap, thus forining` a loop, which occupies a position immediately to the rear of the portion of the end strap provided with the button hole.
