Be it known that I, lieutenant United States Navy, a citizen of the United Statearesiding at Anna; olis, in of Anne Arnndel and tateof Maryland, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Razor-Stro s,- and I do hereby declare the following to a full, clear, and exact .desc-ri tion ofthe invention, ti ers skilled in the art to'which it appertains to make and use the .same. v My invention relates to razor strep hangers, and has for its Qb'ectthe, reduction of 15 a hanger which may e rea y applied to existing straps, and which will take over a nail, pe or other projection, as well as bite into a shelf, ledge or other flat surface.

To these ends my invention consists in the rfifi'novel structure and combination of parts more fully hereinafter disclosed and particularly ojnted out in, the claims.

and 4,, constitute a clip, which is adapted to embrace and snugly hold the swiveled eye 2 of the strep. The flat portions 8 of the aws 4 and 5 are slightly bent and fitted into each other, as shown at 11, at .those portions throu h which the rivet 6 passes, in order that ere may be friction when the said jaws are swung on their ivot 6, all .as best shown in Fig. ,2. The e not of this action is to cause the clip members 10 when once looked, to stay locked until they are forcibly separated by swinging the parts upon the .pivot 6. Of course, since the hanger is made of wire, the art 6 may be simply a rivet immovably bin ing the jaws 4 and '5 together, and the clip members 10, may be simply forcibly sprung apart, in order to disengage them from the swivel 2. This maybe readily accomplished by forcing the said members at art in a direction perpendicular to the plhne in which they lie, and the swivel 2 inserted between the same, in a manner similar to that inwhich a key is slipped over a key 'Fhe upper portions 9 of the jaws 4 and 5 are hook shaped, as shown, and the extreme ends of the same are beveled'oif to form a sharp point 12, as shown. The hooks formed by the parts 9 are preferably of suflicient dimensions and of the proper size to accommodate the folds of the strop when doubled up for packing away, as best shown in Fig. 5.

In operation it is only necessary to snap my hanger into the swivel 2 of the ordinary razor strop, and to then sling the same over a nail, peg or other projection that may be convenient when stropping the razor. Or if no such projection is convenient, owingsto the sharp points 12 with which the hoo 9 are provided, I may bite the hanger into a ledge window sill or other plain surface that may be convenient. The outwardly curved lower portions 7 of the -aws 4 and 5 form a round hole, which ren ers the hanger capable of being readily placed over a nail or peg, and the ta ering triangular space above this hole enabfss the hanger to be readily wed ed against said nail or peg and thereby firm held. In other words, it will be rea il 0' served that I have at least three ways 0! firmly securing m razor strop to surfaces or objects that may e hand in a room, and that in addition thereto my anger serves as a sort of a holder for the strop when folded up for acking away.

The hanger per 88, as shown in Figs. 4 and with 6, may be manufactured separate from the strep and sold as a separate article to be attached to any of the strops now in use.

Of course 1 do not Wish to be limited to the exact details of construction above disclosed, since it is evident that the same may be widely varied without departing from the spirit of my invention.

What I claim is l. A razor strop hanger, comprising a pair of jaws secured together, and eac having a and said hook members bein disposed in a plane at right angles to the p ane of the clip member substantially as described.

2. A razor strop hanger, comprising a pair of jaws secured together, eachjaw having a pointed hook member at oneend, an oppositely curved rounded portion 7, and a clip portion 10 at the other end, disposed in a plane at right angles to the hook whereby the said jaws form a hanger having a pair of hooks, provided with a hole adapting it to and a clip adapting it to be readily attached to a strop, substantially as described.
