IMPROVED BRICK m: SAND-DRIER.

The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.

To all whom itma y concern:

Be it known that I, S. I). RADER, of Willianisport, in the county of Lycoining, and State of Pennsylvania,

have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Brick and Sand-Briers; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification, and in which- Figure 1 represents a perspective view, and Figure 2, a front view of my brick and sand-drier. The nature of my invention consists in the employment of a drier formed into three or more chambers, provided on their sides with strips, placed laterally, upon which are slid the boards and moulds on which the sand, brick, and crockery to be dried are placed.

To enable others skilled in the art to which my iii-- vention appertains, to make and use the same, 1 will proceed to describe its construction and operation.

In the accompanying drawings- A. represents a drier, which is formed into three or mom apartments or chambers BB B, provided with three or more tracks I) b, one above the other.

On these tracks are slid the iron moulds G O O, or the iron boards I) D D," upon which are placed the brick or sand, 830., to be dried.

The moulds G O are made with rollers at each end, so as to work easily on their respective tracks. E E are chimneys attached to the rear upper end of the chambers,.to allow damp air as well as smoke to escape.

To the lower front end of the drier is attached the furnace, formed into two furnaces F F, with a heatbox, G, in the centre.

These furnaces, as well as the heat-box, are constructed with an arch, with draught-holes, to equalize the heat in the chambers. I

Having thus fully described my invention,

What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

The drier A, provided with chambers B B B, fur- 'nace F i ventilating-holes did, double tracks-.11 b, and chimneys E E, when uscd in combination with moulds DD, and sand-boards O G, all constructed and arranged in the manner and for the purpose herein described.
