Be it known that I, THOMAS S. PLIKERD, a

' citizen of the United States, residing at Del phos, in the county of Allen and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Window.Shade and Curtain Holder Devices, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.

This invention relates to an improvement in a window shade and curtain-holder, and has for its object the provision of means for facilitating the supporting of a curtain-pole and a window-shade upon a window frame.

Another object of this invention is the construction of a device which can be adjusted to different positions upon a window frame for accommodating shades or poles of different lengths, and said device comprises a minimum number of parts, is simple in operation, and comparatively inexpensive to construct or manufacture.

With these and other ob ects in View, this inventlon conslsts of certain novel construetions, combinations, and arrangements of parts, as Wlll be hereinafter fully described and claimed.

When it is'desired to secure the clamp to the window frame 9, all that is necessary is to thread the bolt or screw outward and adjust the clamp upon the frame so that the fixed jaw engages one side of the frame, and the sliding aw is positioned contiguous to the other side, and, then, by rotating the bolt 5, for causing said bolt to move inward, said bolt will eventually engage the outer face of portion 6 and the sliding jaw will force the penetrating point of portion 8 of said jaw into the frame, and at the same time will force the point or portion 3 into the frame, thereby fixedly securing the clamp in an adjusted position upon said frame. j j

When it is desired to adjust the bracket upon the body of the clamp, all that is necessary is to loosen screw 22 and slide said raight, flat body 1-to the'desired position. I have only described one device, but it will be obvious that two. devices will be necessary upon a' frame for supporting the ends of a shade or curtain-pole, or both. The device is artistic in appearance, and the bracket is exceed ingly simple in structure, as well as efiicient in operation. Owing to the resiliency of the bracket, the same may be assembled with the body 1 of the clamp by inserting the apertured extension 4 into the bulged portion 17 before bending said end. 4, to its right-angled position, or by spreading the portions 13 and 16 apart, the body 1 can be placed between said portions and in the bulged portions 17 by merely removing the clamp from 0d of the support; subsequently, the portions 17 and 13 can be held together and the slidable bracket secured in an adjusted osition' upon the body 1 by means of the astening member or screw 22.

What I claim is:

1.
