This invention consists in a novel buckle-plate, or

frame, for arranging and combining theseveral straps composing the` shoulder-brace suspender, whereby the parts are rendered more perfectly adjustable, moredesirable, and cheaper than AaretheY present methods.

In the drawing, I show my invention applied to a tached therefrom.

The buckle-plate is of z fi, and t', `which form a slide-buckle, for the purpose of receiving the straps, ivhich are generally made of elastic webbing. i

The slidebuckle,'or openings fi and t', are so situpeculiar formation, and -yet very simple;` It is made as represented in figs. 4 and-'- ated that the shoulder-straps B andB, at theirconnection with the plate, form a right or nearly so, and are one piece.

At the sidesof the plate A are buckles O and O', as seen in lig. 5, (or their equivalents, as shown in iig. 4, viz, the slitsf'i i 'i,) by means of which any desired po ,sition may be givento the shoulders, by shortening or straps form the shoulder-brace, as also the suspender,

Ametallic-plate being used, but, instead of it, I employ pieces,'or 'loops K K', l constructed out of wire, and shaped substantially as shown, and attached to the buckles c o', as represented.

The buckles themselves may be connected by alink, l. This gives .great additional strength to the whole, to resist the Vpull of the straps upon the buckles. I prefer it thus made, as it presents less surface of metal.
