IMPROVEMENT IN SUSPENDERS.

The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the salme` To all whom it mei/y concern.-

Be it known that I, GEORGE Hnnnme PALMER, of the parish of Lewisham, in the county of Kent, England, have invented ajnew 'Improvement in Suspenders; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection With 'the accompanying drawings, and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawings constitute part of this specification, and represent, in i Figure 1, a front view, and, in

Figure 2, a modification of the same.

This invention relates to an improvement in suspenders and consists in forming a connection between the button-holes and brace proper, from Wire bent into such form as to give an elasticity between the ends of the webbing and the buttons to which the Suspenders are attached. l

To enable others to fully understand my invention,

I will proceed to describe the same as illustrated in` the accompanying drawings.

From a single piece of Wire, the spring is bent into the forni seen in iig. l, so as to form a means of connection at A with the webbing above, the two ends, B C, curved to come Within the loops D and E, and to the ends B C, each, is xed a button-hole, or suspender, E E.

In fig. 1, the button-holes are attached to astraighf, piece of wire, G, pivoted to the ends B C.

Ing. 2, instead of the Wires G G, the button-holes (usually formed from leather) extend up, and are attached to the ends B C of the spring, and have a slit, or loop, H, .formed from the saine material through which the loop of the spring passes, so as to be 'held in the proper position, the slits, or loops El being a substitute for the rings a, in fig. 1..

One of the springs thus constructed, is applied to the two ends united at the back, and one to each end in front.

What I claim as new and useful, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

The attachmentfor Suspenders, consistingo` a spring support, for the button-hole tags, or ends, formed from a single piece of wire, bent so as to form loops D and E,`and so that the two ends B and C will play Within the said loops, substantially as described, and for the purpose specified.
