UNITEDSTATES PATENT OFFICE.
NICOLA VITO MANGO AND LEANDRO MANGO, OF UNION IILL, XBW JERSEY.
CUSPIDOR-SUPPORT.
To Vall whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, NICOLA VITO MAXGO, a subject of the King of Italy, and LEAXDRO MANGO, a citizen of the United States, and residing at Union Hill, in the county of Hud son and State of New Jersey, have invented certain new and useful. Improvements in Crispidor-Supports, of which the following is a s ieciiication, such as will enable those skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to cuspidors and particularly to supports therefor, and the object of the invention is to provide an improved device of this class by means of which a cfuspidor may be supported beneath a desk,
a table, a counter, a car seat, steamer seat or other device and conveniently drawn out when required for use and then passed back beneath the desk, table, counter, car seat Orother device with which it is connected.
The invention is fully disclosed in the following specification, of which the accompanying drawing forms a part, in which the separate parts of our improvement are designated by suit-able reference characters in each of the views, and in \vhicli;- g
' Figure 1 is a front view of a desk provided with our improved cuspidor support; Fig. 2 a section on the line 2*2 of Fig. 1 and showing a part of the ciispidor support in section; and, Fig. 3 a section on the line 3 3 of Fig. 2.
In the drawing forming part of this specification, we have shown at a in Figs. 1 and 2 an ordinary table desk having a top a2, and
v in thepractice of our invention, we provide a bracket or support b having a. horizontal tubular arm b2 and adapted to be secured beneath the back part of the top a2 of the desk in the manner of a. hanger. Within the tubular arm b2 is placed a telescopic rod or bar c which may be tubular in forni, if desired, and which is adapted to be drawn out from beneath the top of the desk', as indicated in dotted lines in Fig. l, and which is provided at its frontl end with a handle c2 which is preferably directed upwardly, and connected with the rod or bar c, rearwardly of the handle c2 by means of a clamp or similar device d, is a cage or holder d2 adapted to receive a cuspidor e. A
The ciispidor e is provided with a' cover eI hinged at one side as shown at e3, and within 'Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed July 15, 1907. Serial No. 383,849.

dor an annular chamber designed to receive disinfecting material, and the flange or riin f which forms, in connection with the side walls of the cuspidor, the annular chainber g is preferably perforated so that the disiiifecting material placed in lthe annular chamber g will percolate therethrough and fall into the cuspidor.
l The tubular arm b2 of the bracket or sup port b is rovided nea-r its outer end with internal collars or lanves b3, and the telescopic rod or bar c is provided at its inner end with a collar or flange c3, and the inner collar or flange b3 operates in connection with the collar or flange c3 to limit the outward inovement of the rod or bar c. It will thus be seen that our im roved cuspidor support comprises telesco nc members, one of which is stationary an the other movable, the movable member being longer than the stationary member and that part thereof which projects from the stationary member being provided with a cage or holder adapted to receive a cuspidori and itwill be understood that the cuspidor may be removed from the cage or holder for cleaning or other purposes whenever desired.
Our improvements may be applied to any kind of a desk, counter or table, and may also be applied to car seats, steamer seats, ferry-boat seats and wherever such devices are required.
Havingr fully described our invention, what we claim as new and desire to secure b v Letters Patent, sz-
A cuspidor support, comprising a hanger adapted to be secured beneath a table, desk or other article rearwardly of the front edge thereof and provided with a. forwardly rangingr arm, a supplemental Aarin telescopically connected with the first named arin and norina-ily rojeeting a predetermined distance foi-war( l v thereof, said supplemental arin being provided at its forward end with a handle and rearwardly thereof with a detachable cuspidor holder supported thereover.
In testimony that we claiin the foregoing as our invention we have signed our naines in presence of the subscribing witnesses this 12th day of July 1907.
