In order to enable others skilled in the art to make 'and apply my invention, I will proceed to describe its construction and operation.
Figure 1 is a perspective view.
Figure 2 is a detached view of the hook and loop.
A, in the drawing, represents a narrow board of about one inch iu thickness, to which the rack will be secured by screws, or otherwise.
B is a rectangular chamber, about four inches long, about one inch wide, and three-quarters of an inch thick, in the upper half, and half an inch thick in the lower half, which lower half has a groove in it.
Gis a rod, with an mrow-shaped bead, f, one end of which rod is fastened to the ring H, the other end thereof running into the aforementioned chamber, and the arrow-head running intothe catch c c, and having a pin near the end running in the groove in the chamber B, to guide it straight to the catch.
The springs e e press against theends of' the catch c c, to secure the rod f.
a is a plate on the back part of the wedge, to which is fastened the pin b, to keep it in position."v
H is a ring, to hold the hat, and when n'ot fastened and. in use, hangs loosely on its swivel, at the bottom of the chamber, which swivel, when in use, is drawn about half-Way up into the chamber, as indicated by the dotted line l.

Upon the said hook can be suspended a coat, umbrella, or cane, which,.for greater precaution, will be suspended by the chain, or other material, which cannot easily be cut or broken.
Each key has a number attached to it by a tag, corresponding with the number ofthe rack.
