CLASP WITH PENCIL-CHAIN FOR NOTE-BOOKS, DOCUMENTS, OR THE LIKE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented April '7, 1908.
Application filed April 13, 1907. Serial No. 368,072.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that l, EDUARD KAPUN, private official, of Szigetvar-Szentnihalyfa, Austria-Hungary, have invented a certain new and useful Clasp with Pencil-Chains for Note- Books, Documents, or the Like, of which the following is a specification.
The present invention relates to a clasp which is especially suitable for holding documents together as wellvas for indicating a certain page of a note-book. The clasp is furthermore provided with suitable means for attaching a pencil chain thus dispensing with the socket or sleeve usually provided with note-books for receiving the pencil.
I shall now describe my invention with reference to the accompanying drawings in which Figures 1 and 2 are two views of the clasp, and Fig. 3 shows the clasp attached to a note-book. 1
The clasp consists of two jaws or plates 1 a middle part or link, 2. The clasp is attached by means of two loops 6 passed through a corresponding hole in the cover of the notebook and then bent aside. This form of construction is particularly suited for indicating a special page in the note-book, the longer jaw or plate 3 being inserted at the corresponding spot in the note-book. The pencil chain 5 is attached to the middle part or link, 2, in any suitable manner, for example, by passing a ring through the same.
Having thus described my invention and what I wish to secure by Letters Patent is In combination, a clasp comprising two plates, a link connecting said plates, a pencil chain connected to said link and loops carried by one plate and adapted to be passed through the article to which the clasp is to be applied and then bent aside.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
EDUARD KAPUN. Witnesses ERNEST MELLER, CHARLIE EDWARD 'BATUN.
