To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, WILLIAM J. ENGLISH, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Cohoes, in the county of Albany and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Atomizers, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

My invention relates to an atomizer adaptedparticularly for use as a laundry spray;

also it may be employed for spraying other articles.

A further purpose of the invention is to provide an atomizer that can be conveniently operated and which is of simple and economic construction.

The invention consists in the novel construction and combination of the several parts as will be hereinafter fully set forth and pointed out in the claims.

A represents a container, which may be of any desired shape, but is preferably of the cylindrical form illustrated in the drawings. This container is provided with a spout 10 at its upper face, through the medium of which the container may be filled with a suitable quantity of'water.

The spray device proper consists of a horiof the container and may be attached to the spout or inlet member 10 thereof, and a sec ond tube 12 that extends into the container to Within a point near its bottom, as is'shown in Fig. 2. The tube 12 is at right angles to the'tube 11 and the tube 12 extends but a slight distance beyond the opposing upper end of the tube 11 forming thereby a space 13 between the opposing ends of the tubes. The tube 12 that enters the container is of lesser diam'etenthan the tube 11 that is without the container, and the two tubes are held in position by means of a connecting bracket member 14, preferably of triangular shape, which connecting member is provided with an opening 15 so that when the device is used Without attachment to a container it-may be readily hung up by reason of the opening receiving a nail or equivalent support.

I desire it to be understood that while preferably the device is secured toa container as illustrated in Figs. 1 and 2, it can be used in the form shown in Fig. 3, and when so used the shorter and vertical tubular member or section 12 is simply introduced into a bottle containing a quantit of water.

In the operation of the device the operator needs simply blow throu h the larger tube 11, or if desired, and as isi lustrated in Fig. 1, a bulb 16 may be secured to the outer end of the larger tube 11 whereby on ressing the bulb 16 the necessary spray will be obtained.

The device is exceedin 1y simple, economic, durable, easily operated, and is particularly well adapted to the purpose intended.

Having. thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent,-

1. An atomizer, consisting of a closed vessel having in its top adjacent to one side a circular opening from which leads an inwardly extending slot, and provided with a filling spout adjacent to the opposite side, avertical tube in the vessel and projecting through the circular o ening of the top a short distance above t e same, a horizontal tube extending across, the top of the vessel and secured to the filling spout, the horizontal tube being of greater diameter than the vertical tube and having one end en aging the pro jecting end of the vertical tube with the end of the said vertical tube extending partially across the end of the horizontal tube, and a triangular bracket secured to said tubes at their adjacent ends and fittin in the slot of the top and serving to assist 1n holding the tubes in position.
