BAG FOR PULVERIZING SLICE PLUG-CUT TOBACCO.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented May 21, 1907.
Application led September l1, 1906. Serial No. 334,195.
To all whom, t may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE STEPHEN Ross, a citizen of the United States, residing atRiverside, in the county of Cook, and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bags for Pulverizing Slice Plug-Cut Tobacco; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in a device for grinding slice plug cut tobacco, and comprises a simple and efiicient means comprising a bag having two of its opposite faces roughened or serrated and adapted to be forced together, whereby the plug may be ground to a powdered condition, and dispensing with the necessity of grinding the tobacco by means of the palm of the hand and fingers, as is commonly done.
My invention comprises a device of the construction described having various details of construction and arrangements of parts which will be hereinafter fully described and then specifically deiined in the appended claims.
I illustrate my invention in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure l is a perspective view showing the manner of manipulating the device. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of my improved slice plug cut tobacco grinder7 and Fig. 3 is a cross sectional view on line 3-3 of Fig. 2.
cut tobacco placed between the walls `may be ground to a iine condition suitable for smoking in a pipe. The marginal wall about the opening in the bag is made preferably of a flexible material, whereby the same may be opened to allow the tobacco after being ground to be poured from the bag.
From the foregoing, it will be noted that by the provision of the device shown and described, a simple and efficient means is afforded for easily and quickly reducing the slice plug cut tobacco to a fine condition without spilling particles as is the case when the tobacco is reduced to a fine state by the palm of the hand and fingers.
What I claim is A device for grinding slice plug cut tobacco consisting of a bag having an elongated opening at one end, the opposite faces of the bag spaced apart and provided with serrati ons on their inner faces, as set forth.
In testimony whereof I hereunto afliX my signature in the presence of two witnesses. GEORGE STEPHEN ROSS. Witnesses:
EMIL F. ZAAYENGA, T. I-I. KRAIN.
