IIVLPROVEIIIENT IN OX-BOW PIN'.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all whom it may concern Y Be it known that I, HENRY P. JUDsoN, of Bethlehem, in the' county of Litchlield, and State of Connecticut, have invented lcertain new and useful Improvements in Orr-Bow Pins; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, whereby a person skilled in the art can make and use the same, reference being had tothe accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon.

A is part of the bow through which the pin passes. B is a cross-head, formed in one piece, of castor wrought-metal, with the pin G.
To this head are attached the side springs D D,-
which pass through the openings EE, to support them and key them in place. l
The springs D D are bent round, in the form shown in the drawings, and secured, at F, by means of the clips a a a a, which are bent ldown over the wire of the sp1-ing after it has been placed in the proper position upon the circular portion, i), of the cross-head.
At Gr the wire is bent into a loop of the proper form to ride over the sides of the bow when the pin C is pressed into the hole bored to receive it. i
The operation of myinvention is as lfollows:
When it is desired to place the pin in the bow, the point of C is placed in the hole and the pin pressed in. The parts G G Arideover the surface of the bow and separate the springs D D.
.When the bow and pin are in the position shown in the drawings, the springs close and retain the pin in its place in the bow. l y
When it is desired to remove it, a pull upon the end, B, separates the springs and withdraws the pin.
