IMPROVEMENT IN REVOLVING COULTERS FOR FLOWS.

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, MARSHALL SATTLEY, of Taylorsville, county of Christian, and State of Illinois, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Revolving Outter for Flows; and I do'hereby declare that the following is a full, cleanand exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and revolving cutter for plows, which shall be simple in construction, effective in operation, and not liableto get out of order; and

It consists in the construction of the various parts, as hereinafter more fully described;

A is the revolving cutter-wheel, the'axle of which is attached to or revolves in the ends of the branches of the arm B, in the other end of which arm is formed a hole, for the reception of the wrist or swivel-bolt O, and a horizontal slot, for the reception of the horizontal part of the upright, D.

D is the upright, which is bent at right angles, and

the upper orvertical arm of which is clamped in the ordinary manner to the plow-beam.

The lower or horizontal arm of the upright, D, is

slotted, as shown in fig. 2, to receive the bolt 0, and is inselted in the horizontal slot, in the end of the arm B.

E are washers", passing through the slotted arm B, above and below the horizontal portion of the upright, D, to which they are rigidly clamped by the bolt 0 and nut e, as shown clearly in fig. l.

The head of the bolt 0 is provided with two or more projections, a, which fit into corresponding. recesses, I), in the lower edge of the lower washer, whereby the latter is prevented from turning upon the bolt. By this construction, the washers. are clamped firmly to the slotted portion of the horizontal arm D, at any desired point, and as said Washers fit loosely in the slotted end of the arm B, the latter is permitted to turn freely upon them for the purpose of accommodating the cutter tothe line of draught of the plow.

Having thus described my invention,

What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-- 1. The slotted upright D, constructed substantially as herein shown and described, and for the purpose set forth.

2. The wrist or swivel-bolt 0, constructed substantially as herein shown and described, and washers E, in combination with the slotted upright D, and slotted end of the swivelled arm B, as and for the purpose set I forth.
