Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
rlhe object of this invention is to provide a simple and eective paper-file, which combines the advantageous features of a weight and hook, or wire point.
It consists,in general terms, of a plate, A,'bearing a vpointed wire, a, for penetrating the papers to befled,
in combination with aweight, O, having one or more -holes in it for the reception of the said wire, a, so that the weight may rest on the papers, and be retained in place thereon by the wire.
The base-plate may consist of any at plate, as the part A, but an additional advantage is obtained by forming the base,`A,with an extension, B, which forms an obtuse angle with the base-plate,l as shown. K The part B -is provided with a hole, or loop, or other device, for suspending it from a nail, as shown.
This construction enables the file to be used up'on the wall, or any upright part of a desk, as. shown at fig. 2, while it does not impair its availability for use horizontally on a desk or table, as'shown in iig.v 1.
The papers are represented in red color.
The weight C may be formed with a number of holesl arranged close together, so that it may be placed down at random upon the pointed Wire a, thus obviating the necessity of using care or judgment in order to accomplish the insertion of the'wire in one particular hole.
I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patentl 1. The combination of a base-plate, A, having an upright pin or .pointed wire, a, with a Weight, O,- having one or more holes, b, the whole constituting a paper-file, substantially as and for the purpose herein shown and described, as a new article of manufacture.
