STOVE ATTACHMENT.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Dec. 11, 1906.
Application filed February 9. 1906- Serial No. 300,302.
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I WVILLIAM C. KERsrnT- TER, a citizen of the United States, residing at New Brunswick, in the county of Middlesex and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and useful Stove Attachment, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to attachments whereby a gas, gasolene, or similar stove may be connected to an ordinary cooking-stove or range, and has for its object to simplify and improve the construction and increase the efficiency of devices of this character.
With these and other objects in view, which will appear as the nature of the invention is better understood, the invention consists in.
certain novel features of construction, as hereinafter fully described and claimed.
In the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, and in which corresponding parts are denoted by like designating characters, is illustrated the preferred form of the embodiment of the invention capable of carrying the same into practical operation. I
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of a portion of a cook-stove or range with the improved device applied. Fig. 2 is an enlarged detail, partly in section, of the coupling portion of the device. Fig. 3 is a sectional detail illustrating the manner of supporting the drip-pan.
The improved devices may be applied to various forms of gas or gasolene stoves, and for the purpose of illustration is shown ap plied to a conventional stove of this class in which the shelf or table is shown at 10, the burners at 11, and the feed-pipes at 12.
l The table 10 is provided with a supportingframe comprising vertical posts 15, transverse bars 16, a longitudinal brace 17, and diagonal leg members 18, preferably cast in one piece, the leg members having longitudinal sockets to receive braces 19 and held adjustably in position by set-screws 20. The
posts 15, which come next the stove, (represented at 21,) are provided with lugs, one of which is shown at 22 in Fig. 2 for hearing beneath the flange 23 at the edge of the top of the stove 21, and attached to the table 10 are clips 24, hearing over the top of the stove 21 and pivoted at 25 to swing laterally and held in projected position by detachable pins 26. The clips 24 thus coact with the lugs 22 to couple the table 10 at its inner edge to the stove 21, while the outer edge is supported by the brace members 19, which bear upon the ledge 27 at the bottom of the stove. The
table 10 may thus be readily connected to any form or size of cooking-stove or range in convenient position for use. quired, the table 10 and its attachments can be readily disconnected by simply withdrawing the pins 26 and turning the clips 24 on the pivots 25. Bearing upon the transverse bars 16 is a drip-pan 28, held in position by lugs attached to the pan, one of which is shown at 29.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed is 1'. The combination with a stove having a When not redepending flange at the top and a projecting ledge at the bottom, a vapor-stove table having lugs for hearing beneath said flange, clips movably connected to said table and detachably engaging said stove and braces extending from said table and bearing upon said ledge.
2. The combination with a stove having a depending flange at the top and a projecting ledge at the bottom, a vapor-stove table having a supporting-frame provided with lugs for hearing beneath said flange, clips movably connected to said table and detachably engaging said stove, and braces extending from said frame and adjustable longitudinally for bearing upon said ledge.
3. The combination with a stove having a depending flange at the top and a projecting ledge at the bottom, a vapor-stove table having a supporting-frame formed of vertical legs and horizontal bracebars with inclined leg members depending from their outer sides, brace-rods adjustably coupled to said inclined leg members for bearing upon said ledge, lugs extending from said vertical legs and bearing beneath said flange, and clips carried by said table and engaging said stove.
4. The combination with a stove having a depending flange upon the top plate and an extending ledge upon the lower plate, of a l In testimony that I claim the foregeing as vapor-stove frame having lugs for bearing my own I have hereto affixed my signature in beneath said flange, and adjustable clips de- I the presence of two Witnesses.
