7 Letters Patent No. 83,256, dated October 20, 1868.
IMPROVED HEAD-BLOCK l FOR CARRIAGES.
The Schedule referred to' in these Letters Patent: and making part of the same.
To all whom it ma/y concern Be it known that I, '1. M. OLUXTON, of Rising Sun, in the county of Ohio, and Stateof Indiana, have invented a new and improved Head-Block for Carriages; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable those skilled in the art to make and5-use the same, reference being'had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 represents a plan.or topview of my improved head-block for carriages.

My invention consists in a head-block for carriages and other similarly-constructed vehicles, made of malleable iron or other suitable material, in the shape of the letter T, with the upper portion of that part of it forming the shank of the T grooved out, for the front end of the reach to rest in, and in which it is secured Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding the head of the T, is grooved out, to receive the front spring of the carriage.
