TO cti/Z whom, it may concern- Be it known that I, J OSEPH S. BEAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at West N orWich, in the County of Windsor and State of Vermont, have invented new and useful Improvements in Spittoons, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to spttoons, and more particularly that kind adapted to be carried in a person's pocket.
The object of the invention is to provide a spittoon which shall be handy and convenient to use and which shall have but few parts, so constructed and arranged that they can be readily separated for cleaning purposes.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is an elevation of the invention. Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional view, and Fig. 3 is a plan View.
Referring specifically to the drawings, 5 denotes' the receiver or body of the spittoon, which is in the form of a bag. The receiver may be made of waterproof paper, rubber, or other suitable fieXible material, but can, if desired, be made of metal, such as aluminium. The mouth of the bag is provided With a rim 6 and a stopper 7.
The bag is removably Secured to the rim by foldng it over the top edge of the rim and extending it into the latter, as at 8. The stopper is then placed in the rim inside the folded portion 8 of the bag. The stopper is in the pocket. The outer end of the stopper is formed with an angular fiange 10 to assist the grasp.
I claim- A spittoon comprsing a bag and a rim', the mouth of the bag being folded over the rim and eXtended thereinto, and a plug fitting inside the mouth of the bag within the rim, the bag being removably held between the plug and the rim.
