Description

No. 825,428. PATENTBD JULY 1o, 190e. `E.J.SPBNGER. BCGENTRIG.
APPLIATIDN FILED HAE. l' i906.
. attain,
a or e are attached. It will be noted that an one of the eccentrics mav be unlocked Y from the shaft and readjusted or, if desired,
removed from the, shaft Without disturbing the remaining eccentrics. i
The device herein shown and described is capable of considerable modification Without departing `from the principle of my invention.
Having described my invention, what I claim isd 1.` In a mechanism of the character indicated, in combination with a shaft havinga recess, a first or lookin member'fitting said recess and held in fixe relation to the shaft and rovided with a projection, a second member or member `to belooked to theshaft composed of two sections, means for uniting said sections together u on the shaft, the hub ortion of one of sai sections being provided with a recess into which said projection from the locking member ent-ers, adjusting-screws engaging opposite sides of said projection, and means other than said adjusting-screws for clamping said lockin member in the recess of the shaft and sai second member thereto.
2. In a-m'echanismof the character indicated,|a shaft, having a recess, a lockin member fitted into said recess and held t ereby in fixed relation to the shaft and provided with a projection, anfeccentric composed of two sections and meansfor uniting 'said sectlons together about the shaft, a recess being j jection in said recess to effect t provided in the hub `portion of one of said sections, said projection from said locking member entering said recess and closeljv fittin the same in one dimension and loosely fitting said recess in the other dimension, and adjustable means for shifting said rejection in said recess to effect the desired a justment of the eccentric relative to the shaft.
8. In a mechanism of the character indicated, a shaft havin a recess, a 'locking member having a base tted into said recess and held thereby in fixed relation to the shaft and provided with a projection, an eccentric composed of two sections and means for uniting said sections together about the shaft, a recess being provided in the hub portion of one of sai sections, said projection from said locking member entering said recess and closely fitting the same in one dimension and loosely fittin said recess in the other dimension, adjusta le means for shiftin said pro- Iie desired adjustment of the eccentric relative-to the shaft, and adjustable means reacting between the `base of said locking member and the hub portion of said eccentric to force said base into the recess in the shaft and to lock said eccentric to said locking member.
In testimony whereof I have afiixed mv signature in presence of two witnesses.
ELMER J. SPENCER.
