DESIGN FOR A LIFE-BELT.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 24,260, dated April 30, 1895.
Application filed December 4, 1894. Serial No. 530,826- Term ufpatent 14 years. Patented in England June 10, 1892, No. 10,985; in Belgium January 3, 1893, No. 102.859: in France January 6, 1893, No. 226,957, and in Germany January 7.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM RAISBEOK HARGREAVES,aSt1bj8Gt of the Queen of Great Britain, residiu, at Waterloo, in the county of Lancaster and Kingdom of England, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Life-Belts, (patented in England, No. 10,985, dated June 10,1892; in France, No. 226,957, dated January (3, 1893; in Belgium, No. 102,859, dated January 3, 1893, and in Germany, No. 70,832, dated January 7, 1893,) of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, illustrating the same.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a closed belt, showing my design. Fig. 2 is a face view showingihe inner face of said belt. Fig. 3 is a cross-section of the narrower main portion of the belt.
These views are believed to be necessary to illustrate my design.
a is the main portion of the belt, which is of substantially uniform width. Near each end of the belt is an enlargement a", which is wider than the main portion a and has bevels or inclines, a, at its corners. Along both margins of the belt are narrow bands, 17,01 uniform width.
The inner face, as, of the belt is substantially fiat, or a plane as best seen in the cross-section, Fig. 3, and the outer face, .2', between the marginal bands I), is rounded or convex.
Having thus described my invention, I claim- The design for a life-belt herein shown and described.
