Be it known that I, AUGUSTUS W. Horr, a citizen of the United States, residing in New York, borough of Brooklyn, in the State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bottle-Holders for Medicine-Cases, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to bottle-holders, and more particularly to those such as used for medicine-cases, show-cards, and similar 'ect of the invention being to backing on which the bottle-holders are at tached when placed in the medicine-chest or of the width of the showcard on which the bottles are supported. Said strips are interlocked with each other, so that the clamp or holder of one strip is passed centrally through the recesses of the otherstrip, whereby adjacent bottle clamps or holders are formed, as shown in Fig. 2.

Before the strips, with their clamps, are passed through the recesses of the coveringstrips the clamps are shaped by suitable dies. After the strips are interlocked with each other the clamps that are passed through the recesses of the front strip are properly centered relatively to the adjacent clamps and devices, the ob provide a bottleholder of simple construction which exerts a firm clamping action on the bottles to be held, and thereby obviates the displacement and consequent breakage of the same.

The invention also contemplates the provision of a bottle-holding device, the compo nent parts of which may be readily assembled, said parts when in such assembled position being securely maintained against dislocation; and with these and other objects and advantages in view the invention consists in a bottleholder embodying the novel features and combinations of parts to be hereinafter described and claimed.

In the accompanying drawings, illustrative of one embodiment of the invention, Figure 1 is a front view of a bottleholding device such as used for medicinecases, showcards, &c. Fig. 2 is a horizontal section on line 2 2, Fig. 1. Figs. 3 and 4 are detail front views of the two interlocking strips of which each bottleholder is composed, shown as separated from each other. Fig. 5 is a rear elevation of my improved bottleholder provided with stop devices for locking the strips against longitudinally-shifting motion; and F ig. 6 is a vertical transverse section on line 6 6, Fig. 5.

My improved bottle-holder for medicinecases, show-cards, and other applications is composed of two separate interlocking sheet metal strips a a, each of which is provided with rectangular openings 0 of sufficient size to permit the stock of the metal to be bent up into spring-clamps 0 along the side edges of each recess, as shown clearly in Figs. 3 and 4. The strips a a are made from the same die in any desired length and are then cut off to the size required for the special application-that is to say, for the length of the pasteboard or other suitable material, and covered by a covering 112, of leather or the like, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2. The clamps may, however, be finished by plating, apanning, or otherwise. A closely-arranged series of bottle-holders is thus formed, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2, said holders being obtained without loss of stock from the two recessed strips provided with bent-up clamps at the side edges of the recesses. A suitable rim 1 may be attached in any suitable man ner to the device, said rim serving to prevent the downward movement of the bottles.

l/Vhen it is desired to interlock the two strips so as to prevent any longitudinally shifting motion between the same and produce thereby the uniform distance of the individual clamps from each other, the indiand lower edges of each recess with an intermediate pair of spaced'lugs is, adjacent to the rear portion of the clamps of the other strip, so that the lugs of the outer strip interlock with the clamps of the inner strip and hold thereby the two strips rigidly in position. As these lugs are cut from the full strips, the upper and lower edges of the clamps are pro vided with recesses corresponding to the lugs, which, however, form no objection to the convenient use of the same. .In most cases, however, especially when the supporting strips and clamps are to be covered with suitable material, the locking-lugs would not be required, as the covering fabric would be suflicient for holding the interlocking strips in position relatively to each other.

The individual strips after being cut out by suitable dies with the clamp bent up from the stock of the strip can readily pass through and interlock with each other and then be used for the purpose required, thereby forming very convenient and reliable bottle-holders "for medicinecases and other purposes.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent 1. A bottle-holder for medicine-cases, coinprising an outer strip provided with bottleholding clamps and a plurality of recesses, and an, inner strip having bottle holding clamps projecting through said recesses.

2. A bottle-holder for medicine-cases, comprising an outer strip provided with a plurality ol recesses and bottle-holding clamps bent up from the edges of said recesses, and an inner strip having bottle-holding clamps projecting through said recesses.

A bottle-holder for medicine-cases, comprising an outer strip provided with a plurality of rectangular. recesses and with hottle-holding clamps bent up from the side edges of said recesses, and an inner strip having bottle-holding clamps projecting through said recesses.

A bottle-holder for medicine-cases, comprising contiguous strips provided. with recesses and with bottle-holding clamps bent up from the edges of said recesses, the clamps integral with the strips at of one strip being passed through the recesses of the other strip.

A bottle-holder 'l'or medicine-cases, comprising interlocking strips each provided with recesses and bottle -holding springclamps bent up integral therewith at the edges of said recesses, the clamps of one strip being passed through the recesses of the other strip and being adjacent the clamps thereof.

6. A bottle-holder 'l'or medicine-cases, com.- prising two parallel strips, each provided with recesses and bottle-holding clamps bent up the edges of said recesses, and means integral with the strips at the edges of said recesses for locking the strips against independent longitudinal movement.

7. A bottle-holder for medicine-eases, com prising two separate overlapping strips, each. provided with recesses and. bottle-holding clamps bent up integral with the strips at the side edges of said recesses, and lugs at the upper and lower edges of the recesses at both. sides of said clamps for locking the strips and clamps against longitudinal displacement.
