To enable others skilled in the art to construct and use my invention, I will proceed to describe it. I then cut four or more elongated holes near the edges, u s represented by a, fig. 1, und from these holes I cute' slit, extending to the odge, as represented by eje-nd ef, fig. 1. v f

By slightly bendingthe portions between the holes a und the edge= the slits e are easily opened sufficient to admit the insertion of ordinary rubber bends, es shown by b of lig. 1. I

It is obvious that, if preferred, notches in ey be cut in the edges of' the piece A,"s show-n in fig. '4, to hold the .bends in place, but'these nrenot 4censidered as goed, for thefrenson that they d/o not leave the edges smooth and even, as in the other esse. y v. l i

Having thus described my invention, what I claim is A paper-file, consisting of one or more pieces of pastebourd or other suitable materiel, having notches or recesses cut in its edge, for the reception et' ordinary elastic bends, with the bands applied thereto, ell substantially es described.
