Be it known that I, THEOPHILE EUPHRAT, a citizen of the United States of America, and aresident of Norwalk, countyof Fairfield, and State of Connecticut, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in VVindow- Blind Fasteners, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to means for fastening window-blinds in the closed position more securely, more conveniently, and more efliectively against rattling by the wind when open, as hereinafter described, reference being made to the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a horizontal section of a window with closed blinds, illustrating the general construction of my improved blindfastening. Fig. 2 is a vertical section on line 2 2 of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a detail in section on line 3 3 of Fig. 1. Fig. 4 is a section on line 1 1 of Fig. 3. Fig. 5 is an elevation of a modified form of fastening-bolt shown in Fig. 4. Fig. 6 is a section on line 6 6 of Fig. 4. Fig. 7 is a plan, partly in horizontal section, of a modification of the fastening-bolt.

A represents a tubular case placed on the upper surface, or, if preferred, embedded in the sill a of the window-frame transversely, with its outer end flush with the outer edge of said sill on that side of the central meeting line of the blinds Z2 upon which the outer overlapping member 0 of the rabbet meeting-joint is. In this example of my invention said case extends through the sill a to the inside, and near the outer end it is fitted with internal shoulders d and stops e. A portion of the inner space of the case forms a socket f, in which is a spring in for retracting the hook described farther on.

What I claim as my invention is 1. a slotted catch-plate on the blind adapted for said hook-head to be inserted through it, expanding spring-jaws carrying said hook-head and engaging said head with the catch-plate 20 when inserted through it, and means for contracting said jaws to release them from said slotted plate, said means operated by the 1nstrumentality of the stem of the bolt extended inside of the Window.

3. The combination with the window-sill and the blinds, of a hook-headed sliding bolt applied to the sill with its hook-head extended to reach into a recess of the blind when the blind is closed, a slotted catch-plate on the blind adapted for said hook-head to be inserted through it, expanding spring-jaws carrying said hook-head and engaging said head with the catch-plate when inserted through it, inclines and shoulders for contracting and releasing the hook-head when thrust forward, and a spring for retracting the sliding bolt and engaging the hook-head with the slotted plate.

Tischer of New Haven, Conn, whereas it should have been stated that said applicant had assigned one half to the said The Hurwood illanufactu'ring Company and one fourth to the said George J. Tischer; and that the said Letters Patent should be read with these corrections therein that the same may conform to the record of thecase in the Patent Oflice.
