IMPROVEMENT IN SKATE-BUGKLINGA TONGS.

To ALL WHoM 1T MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that-I, WILLIAM P. PATTON, of Harrisburg, in the county of Dauphin, and in the State'ofPennsylvania, have invented certain new and usefulImprovements in Skate-Buckling Tongs; and doA herebydeclare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had tothe accompanying drawings, and the letters of referencecmarked thereon.v v
In the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, A A represent metallic levers, pivoted together, and having jaws B B, of suitable dimensions, secured to one end, and cross-handles O C at the other end. The jaws B B are made curved, and the ends, which come together, are-made, one with a curved groove', and the other with a eonvexity at the eiid to correspond therewith, for the purpose of catching and holding to the leather of a skate or other strap. The cross-handles C O are made convex on their voutside and flat on the sides which come together, and are designed as convenient holders to pull by when the jaws B'B are caught on a strap to be tightened. On the inside of one of the cross-handles C is secured or pivoteda metallic drill, for the purpose of apunch to make holes in the strap, and for drilling holes in the hoot or shoe to receive-the nibs of skates.
