Be it known that I, JOHN A. MURPITY, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city of St. Louis, in theState of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Copy-Holders, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference be ing had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification.

My invention relates to a copy-holder for supporting stenographers note books and embodying a liner-indicator adapted to traverse the page of'the book from which copy is being made; and the invention consists in features of novelty hereinafter fully described, and pointed out in the claims.

which is provided with a rear upturned lip 2 and a forward upturned lip 3. This base is preferably constructed of sheet metal, and the upturned lip 3 is provided with an eye 4, extending longitudinally thereof, formed by curling the lip, as seen in Figs. I and III. Swingingly mounted in the eye 4 is a yoke consisting of a central pivot portion 5 and two arms 6, that are bent at an angle to the pivot portion to extend in parallel lines, as

2. In a copy-holder, the combination of a base having upturned'lips, a yoke swingingly mounted in one of said lips and having arms,

and a line-indicator of loop form embracing said yoke-arms, substantially as set forth.

3. In a copy-holder, the combination of a base having a rear upturned lip, a forward upturned'lip provided with an eye, a yoke having its central portion positioned in said eye and having arms projecting-from said central portion, and a line-indicator of loop form embracing said yoke-arms, substantially as set forth.
