Be it known that I, MILFRED L. GREEN- STREET, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Owensville, in the county of Gasconade and State of Missouri, have invented.

This invention relates to a device which is adapted to be placed around a Hue so as to form when the stovepipe is removed a stopper completely closing the Iiue and which when the stovepipe is in place may be adjusted to t tightly around the pipe irrespective of the size thereof, providedLof course, that the size of the pipe is not beyond the maximum capacity ofthe device.

Figure 1 is a front view of the invention, showing by dotted lines-the folding sections moved partly inward to fit around and cover a relatively small stovepipe. Fig. 2 is a vertical section taken on the line 2.2 of Fig. 1, and Fig. 3 is an inside view'of thedevice.`

The collar is formed, preferably, of sheet metal and comprises a main portion a,'the outer periphery of which is formedwith an inward and thence outwardly extendingil'ange a', which is adapted to be fastened by tacks or like devicesto the wall in which the iiueopening b is formed. Referenceparticularly to Fig. 2 will show that this construction of the collar provides a cavity between the col- 5o lar and the wall, and in this cavity are arranged the above-referred-to swinging sectorlike sections. Various changes in the form, proportions, and minor detailsof my invention may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope thereof. Hence I consider myself entitled to all such variations as may lie within the scope of'my claim.
