The shell of the egg A is formed of any of the saccharine pastes usually employed in the fabrication of ornamental confections. The exterior surface of this shell may be ornamented with figures, a, or it may be made quite plain! The shell should be from an eighth to a quarter of an inch thick, thus leaving a large cavity within the egg.
