Figure 1 of the drawings Figure 3 is a transverse sectional elevation of the same. The shell of the egg A is formed of any of the saccharine pastes usually employed in the fabrication of ornamental confections. The exterior surface of this shell may be ornamented with figures, a, or it may be made quite plain! The shell should be from an eighth to a quarter of an inch thick, thus leaving a large cavity within the egg. This cavity is to be occupied in part by a figure or figures, B, and a background of foliage, B, or either or both of these may be used, as may be desired; These figures are to be placed in the central part of the egg, and in a plane perpendicular to its major axis. In an orifice at one end'of the egg, and. fronting the ornaments B B, is placed a small but powerful magnifying-glass, b, placed in such a position that he said glass will ,discern the figures B B within the egg, most beautifully enlarged.
