To all whom it ntcty concern:

Be it known that I, ORVILLE L. Scann- BACHER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Eastpoint, inthe county of Tioga and State of Pennsylvania, have invented new and useful Improvements in Curtain-Fixtures, of which the following is a specification.

' My invention relates to curtain-fixtures,tl1e object being to provide extensible hangers for window-shade rollers of simple and inexpensive construction, which may be readily adj usted to receive rollers of different lengths.

The invention consists of hangers formed with notches at their lower edges and provided with perforated ears serving as bearings for the roller-journals, in combination with supporting-brackets of novel construction.

The details of the improvement will be fully described hereinafter in connection with the accompanying drawings, which form a part of this specification, and its novel features will be defined in the appended claims.

In the drawings, Figure 1 is an elevation of the upper portion of a window-frame with my improved curtain -fixtures in position thereon. Fig. 2 isa plan view of one of the fixtures detached. Fig. 3 is a front elevation of the same on an enlarged scale and partly broken away, and Fig. 4: is an elevation of the outer side of one of the supportingbrackets of the device.

The reference-numeral l designates the window-frame, to opposite sides of which are secured oppositely-disposed brackets, each comprising a plate 2, preferably of substantially semicircular form, having a vertical flange 3 projecting outward from the outer edge of the plate, at right angles thereto. These flanges 3 are each formed with a vertically-elongated slot 4, through which the hangers extend, as will be further explained. The rounded inner edge of each of the plates 2 is formed with an extension 5, the ends 6 of which are separated by slits from the plate to adapt them to be turned over toward each other to form guides and keepers for the hangers. The hangers each consist of a flat bar 7, bent at right angles at its outer end to form an ear 8,which is perforated to serve as a bearing for one of the roller-journals, as illustrated by dotted lines in Fig. 1.

The under edge of each of the hanger-bars 7 isformed with notches 9, adapted to be engaged by the lower walls of the slots 4t of the flanges 3, said walls being beveled in opposite directions, as shown at 10 in Fig. 3, to adapt them to fit the notches of the bars.

The bars 7 extend through the slots 4; and also through the guides formed by "the bent ends 6 of the extensions of the bracket-plates, the latter serving to support said bars in any position to which they may be adjusted and at such a distance from the slotted flanges 3 as to maintain the hangers in the proper horizontal position.

The utility and operation of the invention will be obvious from the foregoing description in connection with the drawings. The brack- 7o ets are adapted to be secured to the sides of the window-frame at any desired point, and the hanger-bars 7 may be readily adjusted within the slots and keepers of the brackets to insure the required supports for the curtain-roller. Thus the fixtures are adapted for use with rollers of different lengths, as will be apparent.

I claim-- 1. A curtain-fixture comprising a bracket consisting of a plate having a vertically-disposed flange at its outer end formed with an elongated slot, and an extension at its inner edge having its ends separated by slits from the plate and bent toward each other to form a guide or keeper; and an adjustable hanger consisting of a bar extending through said slot and keeper, notched at its lower edge and having its outer end bent forward at right angles and perforated to form a bearing for a roller-journal.
