TO ALL WHOM I'I' MAY yC'ONOERN 'Be it known that I, ZADOK HOWE, of Lowell, in the count-y of, Kent, and in the State of Michigan, lia-ve invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bed-Bottoms; and do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had tothe accompanying drawings, and tothe letters of reference markedthereon. In the annexed drawings, making part of this specification- AA represent the side and B B the end rails of the bed. C C represent the bed-slats. d nl represent staples, which are driven into both the foot-rail and the headreil, and which suspend a series of triangular wire swings, e e. The under sides of the slats C C are provided with vnotches near each end, and these notched ends lie in the swings e e. Thus the slats are suspended within the 'bed-frame by means of the swings e e at eaeh end. The slats ar'eso formed as to spring, and thus give elastici@r` to the/be Having thus fully described myinvention, what I claim as new, and desire to seeure by Letters Patent, is- Suspending theslats C C at each en d in theswings e e,`whieh are secured to Vthe-foot and head-rails ofthe bed, as and for the purpose set forth.
