IMPROVE); sTABoII-ELBvAT0R.
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN.:
Be it'lrn'owu Vthat/li, ANDREW ERKENBRECHER, of Cincinnati, Hamilton county, Ohio, have invented a new und useful Starch-Elevator; and I hereby declare the following to be a; full, clear, and eXact description thereof, reference being had tothe accompanying drawings, making part of this specification.
This invention relates to a device for conveying to an upper or distant room the moulded and separated blocks of partially solidified starch, so as to place the saine convenient to the drying apparatus.
Figure 1 is a longitudinal section ofnl machine embodying my invention.
Figure 2 is a, plan thereof.
. is a yframe composed of two beams or shears B B connected together by a web, aiibrdiug journalbeming for two rollers -D D', of which the upper one,` D, is the driver'to an endless apron, E, which is stretched around both of them. F are rollers, which support the upper or effective side of the apron. G is a stand or trestle, affording journal-bearing for a. series of rollers, H, which receive from -the apron E, one after another, the boards L on which the wet staren-blocks are placed. The trestlel is arranged at a properheight above the floor of the drying-room, for convenient removal, by the operatives, of the starch-laden boards to.:l suitable table. The wet blocks being lifted singly onto the drying-racks, the boards, as fast as empty, are placed edge- Wise in the upper end of n trough, J, having a. series of rollers, K, which enable the boards to descend to the place of commencement by their gravity, whence they are removed to a'table in the lower story to recente fresh loads of wet starch.
By the above means I enable the safe, easy, and expeditious removal and elevation of the wet starch, free from the severe labor, wnstage, and dirt-tracking which accompany the ordinary mode'of elevation on. the` shoulders of a gang of laborers.
I claim herein as new,'and of my invention- The arrangement of ascending endless apron E, trestle Ur, and return-trough J, as and for the purpose set forth.
In testimony of which invention I hereunto set my hand.
ANDREW ERKENBRECHER..
