The manner of operating my'machine is :is follows: Plee the right-hand end st m against the board, have the lever as in Fig. I, strike one or two blows on the top of the steel E to set it into the timber, then carrylho upper end of the lever C over-to the right, and .the plate B is carried forward, es shown by red dotted lines.
