IMPROVED WEATHER-S'IRIP.
@in tlgehulenfetreb tu it lgzse ters ateut mth making gmt nf tige tame.
To ALL wHoM `IT MAY coNcERN:
Beit known that I, JOSEPH MILLER, of Alliance, in the county of Stark, and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful improvements in lll/'eether-Strips; and I do hereby declare that the following isnl full and complete description of the seme, reference being had to the accompanying drawings making'apart of this specication, in which-v Figure 1 isa. view of a door and portion o f the casing or frame.
Figure 2 is a detached section to which reference will be made.
Like letters of referencerefer to like parts in the views.
In the drawings A represents the door, which is represented as thrown open, and B the frame.
My improvement consists' in the manner of securing the strip C to the' door, which is connected to the lower part of the door, as represented, by cutting a. groove in the door and allowing the edge of the strip to be placed in it in an inclined position, asl shown in fig. 2. This is to allow the rain that comes against the door to run down, and the plate being inclined throws the water away from the foot of the door, so that none will pass l under the edge into the room; also, by the edge of the strip being placed in the groove, no watercen pass down between the door and strip, as it would do if the strip were just placed-against it. This plate is held in position vafter being placed in this groove, as stated, by means of the brackets D. which are secured to the door, and
the lower end forming a lip over the edge ofthe plate C, as seen atig. 2, thus making a very permanent and secure manner of fastening the strip to the door in conjunction with the groove. What I claim as my improvement, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
Supporting the weather-strip C to the door in the groove by means of the brackets D, provided with the tip a, combined .in the manner and for the purpose substantially es set forth.
JOSEPH MILLER.
