Be it known that we, 0. H. WILDER and J. M, WILDBB, of the-city,- county, and State of New York; have invented snow and improved Nipple-Shieldand we do hereby declare that the following is a' full, clear, and
exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make anduse the some, reference being i had to the accompenyingdrowings;forming part of this specification, in which Fignre l'represents'n longitudinal central section of this invention taken inv the plnneindicated by the line a: z, fig. I v
Figure 2 is a transverse section of" the some the lines y y fig. 1,,indicoting the plane of section. Similer letters of reference. indicate like parts. I
This invention consists in the arrangement of a screen in combimsuon with a nippleshield-in such a manner that by said screen the nipple is prevented from being drawn out any further thandesireb'lmend the usefulnessof the nippIe-shieldis' materially improved. Th-esci'een is made adjustable, so that its position can be regulated to correspoud to nipples of .diflerent sizes. v
' A represents: nipple-shield made of India-rubber, or other suitable material, and attached to the end of a tube, B; of glass or other similar material, in the ordinary-manner. With this nipple-shield we have combined a screen, a; made of glass, or any other suitable material, and'perforeted with a number of small holes, through which the milk passes to th spout. This screen serves to support the nipple, and it prevents said nipple being drawn-in any further than desirablet Instead of fasteningv the screen firmly in the tube B, however, we have attached the same to a slide, 0, which is also made ofglass, 'or other suitable material, and provided with a pnckingq'ing, b, so that it moves air-tight inthe tube B. Byv these menus the screen is rendered adjustable, so that its position can be regulated to correspond to the size of difl'erent nipples. By theattachment of our screen the value of the nipple-shield is considerably inoreasedpand said shield is rendered much more convenient in its application then a nipple-shield of the'fordiuery construction.
Having thus described our invention, we claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent- 1. The arrangement of n screen,'a, in combination with the nipple-shieldA, substantially as and for the 2. The adjustable slide 0, in comhinotion nith the screen a"nnd n ipple-shield A, sfibstautially as and for 0. H. WILDEB,
J. M..WILDER.
