rTED STATES MAX scHEUEE, E NEW YORK, N; Y.
APPAREL-BELT..
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 656,666, dated August 28, 1900.
Application filed June 16,1900. Serial No. 20,522. (No model.)
To @ZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, MAX SCHEUER, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of New York city, county and State of N ew York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Belts, of which the vfollowing is a specification.
This invention relates to an improved belt, and more particularly to improved means by which the belt may be readily fastened and adjusted to the body of the wearer.
The accompanying drawing represents a perspective View of my improved belt.
The letter Ct represents the body of the belt, having overlapping ends a', of which one is drawn through a keeper a2. Set back from these overlapping ends there are attached to the belt-body the eyes or rings b by straps c, which are secured to the face of the belt at a distance from its ends. Through these rings is drawn one continuous strap d, the ends of which are adapted to be adjustably connected to each other by means of a buckle e, secured to one end and adapted to engage perforations d in the other end. Thus the strap CZ forms a continuous loop in front of the overlapping-belt sections, and by it the size of the belt may be readily adjusted. If the belt is to be made wider or smaller, the buckle e is opened, the strap d partly drawn through the eyes b, and the buckle again closed. Thus it will be seen that the adjustment is readily effected and that a superior fastening of great strength'is obtained, while the nether garments are not exposed through the eyes.
What I claim is@ Y A belt provided with apair of straps secured to the face of the belt at a distance from its ends, eyes attached to the straps, a looped closing-strap drawn through the eyes, and a buckle for connecting the ends of said closingmstrap, substantially as specied.
Signed by me at New York city, State of New York, this th day of June, 1900.
