To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that we, HUGO E. EBERT and HERBERT G. SEEFELD, citizens of the United States, and residents of Milwaukee, in the county of Milwaukee and State of Wisconsin,

have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Necktie Attachments; and we do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof.

Our invention has for its object to provide simple economical clamps designed for use instead of the band-securing pins common in made-up neckties; and it consists in certain peculiarities of construction and combination of parts hereinafter set forth with reference to the accompanying drawings and subsequently claimed.

Figure 1 of the drawings represents a rear elevation of a made-up necktie provided with a band-securing clamp in accordance with our invention; Fig. 2, a partly-sectional plan View indicated by line 2 2 in the preceding figure; Fig. 3,a detail partly-sectional plan view of the clamp, and Fig. 4 a vertical sectional view indicated by line 4 4 in the first figure.

Referring by letter to the drawings, A indicates astiif plate of sheet metal or other material suitable for our. purpose made to form an angular yoke having outturned extremities constituting lateral ears provided with apertures through which to stitch thread employed to hold the yoke to the back of the body portion of a necktie; but various means may be utilized to unite said yoke and necktie.

A stiff loop B, of sheet metal or other material suitable for our purpose, has play in vertical slots formed in that portion of the yoke farthest in rear of the necktie to which it is attached, and a bow-spring 0 (shown riveted to the loop) has its ends in contact with the inner. side of the aforesaid portion of said yoke.

The yoke being offset from the necktie and the loop B pressed against resistance of the spring 0, clearance will be had intermediate of said yoke and loop through which to pass the neckband D of said necktie, and pressure being removed from the aforesaid loop the latter will be forced by said spring toward normal position to clamp said band.

From the foregoing it will be understood that the preferred form of our device com prises but three parts-the'yoke, loop, and spring-all of which may be produced very cheaply and readily assembled, it being nee essary that a device of the character described be such as may be made and sold to the trade at a cost that will not materially add to the expense of the neckties to which they are attached.

Having thus described our invention, what we claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

A clamp for holding the neckband of a made-up necktie, the same comprising a stiff plate made to form an angular yoke having turned extremities constituting lateral ears attachable to the back of the necktie, a stifi loop having loose engagement with that por tion of the yoke farthest in rear of said necktie, and a bow-spring arranged between the inner rear portion of the loop and adjacent face of said yoke.
